According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini is preparing a big decision on Jack Wilshere’s involvement against Manchester City this weekend.

Wilshere was a big signing for West Ham over the summer, as they swooped to land him following his release from Arsenal, handing him a move to his boyhood club.

Whilst obviously talented, Wilshere’s big problem over the years has been injuries, and West Ham fans were hugely concerned that those injury woes would return once again.

Sure enough, they did. The 26-year-old was taken off injured in the fourth game of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and has now been out for almost three months with an ankle problem.

Now though, Wilshere is building up to a return, and the Daily Mail report that Pellegrini is now set to make a big decision over the midfielder’s role against Manchester City this weekend.

It’s claimed that Pellegrini will make a late call on whether Wilshere is fit enough to be named on the bench against City, and if he doesn’t make it this weekend, he will be in against Newcastle United in their next game.

With Carlos Sanchez also out, West Ham need bodies in midfield, and Wilshere’s return is a boost – but there will always be those lingering injury doubts over his head no matter what.
