West Ham United may now stick with Arthur Masuaku next season.

According to Football.London, West Ham United are now planning to shelve any pursuit of a new left back, with Manuel Pellegrini prepared to stick with Arthur Masuaku.
After a top 10 finish, West Ham will be looking to chase European football next season, but Pellegrini will need some reinforcements to get closer to that goal.
Much of the summer transfer business should involve overhauling the striking options, but many expected left back Masuaku to be on his way having struggled for playing time in the early stages of 2019.
In fact, the Daily Mirror (February 12th 2019, page 56) reported that West Ham had already decided to cash in Masuaku, and were looking for a fee of £10million in order to bring in a replacement to compete with Aaron Cresswell.
Now though, Football.London claim that Masuaku’s outstanding late-season form has somewhat convinced Pellegrini to abandon the pursuit of a new left back, instead sticking with Masuaku.
The DR Congo international, 25, will now have every chance to make the spot his own again, having endured an up-and-down season before impressing in the final weeks of the campaign.

Pellegrini will hope to keep that form on a consistent basis, rather than seeing Masuaku fall back into poor form again, and end up regretting his decision to U-turn on his Hammers future.
This alleged decision would seemingly rule out a move to Tottenham Hotspur, as The Sun claimed last week that Spurs are hoping to take Masuaku to North London to bolster their own left backs options.
With Pellegrini allegedly keen to persist with Masuaku despite his ups and downs, it seems that he’ll be staying at West Ham, leaving Spurs to look elsewhere for another left back this summer.
