The Athletic have reported this morning that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has decided to turn down Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Last season’s Premier League champions Manchester City made a ‘flattering proposal’ to Pogba, and while the Manchester United midfielder gave ‘serious contemplation’ to a potential switch, he has finally decided against a move, according to the report.

The report has claimed that Pogba’s representatives have told City that he will not move to the Etihad Stadium and will switch to another club instead.

The France international midfielder is out of contract at United at the end of the season.

Paul Pogba to Manchester City always unlikely

In our opinion, it was always unlikely that Pogba would leave Manchester United for Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

After all, United and City are bitter city rivals.

Pogba divides opinion among United fans, and a move to City on a free transfer would really damage the relationship he has with the Old Trafford faithful.

In our opinion, it would make sense for Pogba to find a club other than City to move to this summer.

Pogbs is in his prime now, and he would be able to find a top club in mainland Europe.
