Paul Hart is reportedly set for a move back to Leeds United.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Paul Hart is set for a return to Leeds United, the club he not only played for but also worked for as academy boss during the 1990’s.

Hart, 62, may be best known for his spells as manager of Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth, Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace, but he worked wonders at Elland Road previously.

As academy manager, Hart helped bring through the likes of Paul Robinson, Jonathan Woodgate, Harry Kewell and Alan Smith; all players who featured prominently during Leeds’ rise to the top of English football in the early 2000’s.

With two FA Youth Cup titles under his belt during his time at Leeds, Hart was the driving force behind the crop of young talent at Elland Road, before leaving in 1997.

Now, almost 20 years on, Hart is set to return to Leeds – the club he made almost 200 appearances for as a player – in a similar role, managing the club’s academy.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report that Hart has held talks with Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino, and will return to the club in the coming days.

Hart will once again be charged with the task of developing home-grown talent at Leeds, which has become so important to the Whites recently.

The first team regularly features the likes of Charlie Taylor, Lewis Cook, Sam Byram and Alex Mowatt, all of whom have come up through the ranks at Elland Road.

With the conveyor belt of talent now churning out first team stars once again, it will be up to Hart to keep that going – and his track record suggests that he can make it happen.
