According to The Guardian, West Ham United now won’t be able to sign targets Patson Daka or Olivier Giroud.

The Hammers are being linked with so many strikers at the moment, having sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax earlier in the window.

David Moyes needs to find a replacement in order to help Michail Antonio, but two of his prime targets appear to be out of reach.

The Mirror reported earlier this month that West Ham are eyeing Red Bull Salzburg striker Daka, with agent Frederic Kanoute and ex-Hammer himself.

Daka is a hugely exciting talent, with the 22-year-old smashing 15 goals in 17 games this season, as well as picking up five assists.

The Zambian could have been a huge addition, but it seems that West Ham just can’t quite make a deal happen financially this month.

The same goes for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, with Eurosport claiming that West Ham were keen on an ambitious move to land him as Haller’s replacement.

Giroud has been in and out of the Chelsea side this season, but with West Ham unable to push for a deal, it looks like two of Moyes’ targets are off the table.
