Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic are reportedly set to sign Patrick Roberts from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that the deal will be finalised early next week, and that Roberts will spend the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Celtic.
Talks between Celtic, City and the winger’s representatives have taken place, with the two clubs reaching an agreement that will see the Hoops pay “pay a substantial loan fee and a hefty chunk of his wages”, according to the report.

The 20-year-old winger returned to his parent club City earlier this summer after an 18-month loan spell at Celtic Park.
The England Under-20 international played well during his loan spell at the Bhoys, winning the Scottish Premiership title twice, and the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish League once each.

Roberts is a hugely talented and promising young winger, and he will certainly be welcomed back with open arms by the Celtic fans.
With the Glasgow giants virtually guaranteed to play in the group stage of the Champions League for the second season in a row. the winger will add depth to the Celtic squad.
Working under a manager like Brendan Rodgers for two successive years is only going to improve Roberts as a player.
