West Ham United are set to sign free agent Patrice Evra later today.

Evra is set to sign on a free transfer at the London Stadium later today, after undergoing a medical earlier.
The French international left-back is seen as a good short-term solution for David Moyes’ side, as they look to avoid the drop.

Evra is now 36, and West Ham were not prepared to give him a deal beyond this season, as they look for the veteran to prove he still has what it takes to perform in the Premier League.
Evra was regarded as one of the best full-backs in England during his time at Manchester United years ago, but he is now very much in the twilight of his career.

If Evra does move to West Ham, he will be in competition with Aaron Cresswell for a place on the left-hand side on Moyes’ side’s defence.
Evra could make his West Ham debut at the weekend, when Moyes’ side take on Watford.
