West Ham United released Patrice Evra in the summer after a short spell with the Hammers, but he is now back training at the London Stadium.

The news that the 37-year-old is back with the club may not go down particularly well amongst some Hammers supporters. His brief spell saw him make just five appearances for the Irons before he was released in the summer and his three starts all ended in 4-1 defeats.
Football London reports that Evra has returned to train with West Ham and featured alongside Angelo Ogbonna at centre-back in a training ground game against Queens Park Rangers. Javier Hernandez would score for the Irons, but the Championship side ultimately won 3-1.

West Ham may currently have no intention of discussing anything more substantial with Evra, but his critics may fear that the door will not be fully closed on a second spell while he remains at the club in any capacity.
It would not be a disaster if Manuel Pellegrini ultimately decided to bring him in as cover – though they certainly do not appear to need him currently – but given the wages that he may well demand, it would arguably make a lot more sense to look elsewhere on the market or even promote another rising starlet rather than turn to Evra for a second time if circumstances dictated that Pellegrini did need to bolster his options at left-back.
