Manchester United were reportedly leading the race to sign the Tottenham Hotspur star, before Paris Saint-Germain joined the party.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, French giants Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, and are prepared to offer the Belgian £10 million per year, in an effort to beat Manchester United to his signature.

The 29-year-old’s future at Spurs is uncertain to say the least, following Davinson Sanchez’s emergence, and his reluctance to agree terms on a new deal with the club.

According to the Mirror, the Lilywhites are prepared to sanction Alderweireld’s exit from the club this summer, and will listen to offers in the region of £55 million for the Belgium international.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all thought to be keen on signing the Tottenham ace this summer, but the Daily Mail claim that PSG have now entered the race, and are prepared to offer him £192,000 per week in order to secure his signature.

The 29-year-old centre-back has a £25 million buy-out clause inserted into his current contract that will be activated in the summer of 2019, so if Spurs do manage to sell him for around £55 million at the end of this season, it will surely be considered excellent business for them.
