The Arsenal ace is reportedly attracting attention from West Bromwich Albion.
A report emanating from France today claims that the Baggies are lining up a swoop for Gunners right-back Mathieu Debuchy, with L’Equipe suggesting that Alan Pardew is a big fan of the 32-year-old, having worked with him during his time in charge of Newcastle United.
The 56-year-old has made no secret of his desire to bolster his ranks at the Hawthorns this month, with his side currently deeply embroiled in a relegation battle.
West Brom sit in 19th position in the Premier League table, four points adrift of safety, and are in desperate need of an injection of quality, with relegation to the Championship looming large.
L’Equipe claim that Debuchy is one of Pardew’s top targets, as the former Newcastle, West Ham United and Crystal Palace boss looks to add experienced cover to his back-line.
Whilst the 32-year-old is arguably past his best, he could still do a job for the Baggies, and with just six months remaining on his current deal, he should be available for a cut-price deal – something that will appeal to Pardew, what with the limited funds his has available to him.
