Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly interested in the West Bromwich Albion man.
Baggies boss Alan Pardew has held ‘candid’ talks with Jonny Evans over his potential January exit from the Hawthorns, according to the Daily Mail, and has set a deadline of January 28th for any potential deal to go through.
The 30-year-old centre-back has been heavily linked with moves to Manchester City and Arsenal, according to the Express, but no formal bids have been made as yet.
Pardew will obviously not want to lose arguably his best player this month, but his hand might just be forced, if he wishes to fund a January spending spree of his own.
Evans joined West Brom from Manchester United in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £6 million, and he has gone on to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s most consistent performers.
The Daily Mail report that whilst Pardew would like to keep him at the Hawthorns, he has informed the Northern Ireland international that he will be allowed to leave, and has set a deadline of January 28th, if either Man City or Arsenal are to sign him.
The Baggies boss is obviously keen to get his business done early, and selling Evans on deadline day will not be an option.
Whether City or the Gunners will react to Pardew’s reported deadline remains to be seen, however.
