According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion are keen to land Krasnodar midfielder Charles Kabore in the January transfer window.

West Brom moved to appoint Alan Pardew as their new manager earlier today, handing him a deal until 2020 having sacked manager Tony Pulis last week.

The Baggies must attempt to turn their fortunes around under Pardew, and the new boss may well look towards the January transfer window for reinforcements.

Now, the Daily Mail report that Pardew may have already lined up his first transfer target, as Krasnodar midfielder Charles Kabore is believed to be on West Brom’s January wish list.

However, it’s noted that Pardew’s last club – Crystal Palace – are also keen to land Kabore, with a fee of £6million suggested for the holding midfielder.

Kabore, 29, made his name with French giants Marseille racking up 175 appearances for them before heading to Russia with Krasnodar in 205.

Now a veteran holding midfielder and captain of the Burkina Faso national team, Kabore is a strong and hard-working holding midfield player, and would offer major experience to either side.

At £6million, Kabore may be worth a punt, though Baggies fans may feel there are other priorities after seeing the club sign Grzegorz Krychowiak and Gareth Barry over the summer transfer window.
