According to Samp News 24, Tottenham Hotspur are planning to push for Sampdoria winger Mikkel Damsgaard following Fabio Paratici’s arrival.
It’s claimed that Tottenham are ‘preparing a new assault’ for Damsgaard, who has been wanted for months – even recommended by Jose Mourinho and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The report notes that Paratici’s move to become a managing director at Tottenham now means a bid for Damsgaard is likely, given that Paratici saw plenty of him in Serie A.
Who is Mikkel Damsgaard?
Damsgaard only joined Samp from Nordsjaelland last summer, but he showed real promise in Serie A with two goals and four assists.
He already has two goals in three caps for Denmark too, and is a part of their Euro 2020 squad this summer.
Damsgaard has even been likened to Michael Laudrup by his former Nordsjaelland boss Flemming Pedersen, so big things are expected of the winger.

Do Tottenham need Damsgaard?
It would be wise for Tottenham to bring in a younger wide man. Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela are both approaching their 30’s, and the same goes for Son Heung-min.
Damsgaard is just 20, and may be able to give Tottenham a wide threat for years to come, even if his first season would likely see him in and out of the side.
Damsgaard clearly has talent on and off the ball with his skill and pace, and given the way he loves to cut in from the left flank onto his right foot, he could be Son’s long-term heir at Tottenham.
