According to Calciomercato, Fabio Paratici has already failed to bring a transfer target to Tottenham after missing out on Gianluigi Donnarumma.
What’s the story?
Well, despite making several phone calls to Donnarumma’s agent, Mino Raiola, it looks like Tottenham have lost out to Paris Saint-Germain.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have offered the 26-cap Italy international a contract worth €12 million-a-year (£10.3 million-a-year) – equating to £198,076-a-week.
Paratici tried to get in contact with Raiola, but Donnarumma did not have any interest in moving to England.
In fairness to Tottenham’s soon-to-be-announced Director of Football, he is described as being the last to ‘surrender’ in the fight to sign the goalkeeper.

While some might use this as a stick to beat Paratici with, you can’t put any blame on the Italian in this situation.
As aforesaid, Donnarumma didn’t even fancy moving to England.
Additionally, it feels unfathomable that Daniel Levy would agree to pay a 22-year-old goalkeeper nearly £200,000-a-week.
Yes, it would’ve been nice to get the highly-rated glovesman in as a long-term Hugo Lloris replacement.
The Frenchman has a year left on his contract, and it’s a position that Spurs certainly need to start thinking about in terms of reinforcements.
However, Paratici clearly tried everything he could, but it just wasn’t a feasible deal.
Calciomercato add that Donnarumma had already agreed to join PSG, so it sounds like Paratici was fighting a lost battle.
He does, in truth, deserve credit for persisting.
Hopefully, the Italian enjoys more success with his future endeavours for Tottenham in the transfer market.
