Everton not acting on their interest in Palermo goalscorer Ilija Nestorovski certainly looks questionable now.

Palermo probably couldn’t believe their luck when the transfer window closed at the end of August and talismanic striker Ilija Nestorovski was still plying his trade in pink and black.
Palermo were deservedly relegated from Serie A last season but the Macedonian forward could hardly be blamed for that. Nestorovski scored 12 goals in 38 league games and was nothing short of an inspiration leading the line for a side who looked hopeless for the vast majority of the season.
Calciomercato reported in February that Everton’s interested had been piqued by the 27-year-old’s fine performances and, as a result, his valuation rocketed to £17 million. Why The Toffees never renewed their interest in the summer when Romelu Lukaku departed for Manchester United, however, is anyone’s guess.

Instead, while Everton are crying out for a reliable goalscorer having failed to find the net in each of their last three league games, Nestorovski is plying his trade in the Italian second division, scoring his second goal in four games to see off Perugia on Tuesday night.

It is understood that Palermo will let him leave in January – and will now accept just shy of £9 million for their prized asset.
Therefore, Everton should at least consider doing a deal this time around with Nestorovski available at half price. He’s quick, hard-working and a ruthless finisher – everything Ronald Koeman’s side could do with to solve their problem position.
