Italian side Palermo have moved on from their interest in Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, who looks set for Nice, and are reportedly set to sign Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty.

It is reported by TuttoMercatoWeb that Palermo are highly likely to make a move for the Northern Ireland international before the transfer window shuts this evening.

Palermo are desperate to bring in a striker this summer but after missing out on Balotelli they are struggling for options.

With this in mind the Italian club are ready to make a move for Lafferty, as he has a good relationship with the club already.

The Norwich striker spent the 2013-14 with Palermo, impressing with 12 goals in 36 appearances before heading to Norwich.

His time at Carrow Road has not been a hit, but his form for Northern Ireland has made him an eligible target despite his Canaries woes.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Cardiff City this week but a return to his happy hunting grounds could prove tough to resist for the frontman.
