According to The Daily Mail, Watford have rejected a £25 million bid from Crystal Palace for Senegal international Ismaila Sarr.
The south Londoners were keen to test the waters on deadline day with an opening offer which was swiftly rejected by the Hornets, although they’re considering a second offer before the 5pm deadline.
It is also mentioned in the report that Watford – who take on Derby this evening in Championship action – wanted £40 million for the forward who only arrived from Rennes last summer in a £40 million deal.
Sarr is a long-term target for the Eagles. Roy Hodgson’s side tried to sign him before he moved to Vicarage Road according to the Watford Observer, and it looks like they haven’t given up the chase.
If they did bring the 22-year-old to Selhurst Park, it would be a fantastic signing.

The Saint-Louis-born attacker scored six goals and set up six more for Watford last term in his debut campaign in England.
Additionally, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has previously likened Sarr to Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele.

Speaking to RMC Sport, the ex-Real Madrid boss said: ‘If I speak [about players] I think that their agents will be very happy. But for example, I like Allan Saint-Maximin, I like his speed, and I think Ismaila Sarr has a little bit of [Ousmane] Dembele in him.’
If Crystal Palace are planning a second offer, they’ll need to act fast with barely any time left until the transfer deadline at 5pm.
