The Sunderland midfielder is reportedly wanted by Derby County, Stoke City and Norwich City from the Championship alone.

Championship trio Derby County, Stoke City and Norwich City have entered the running to sign Sunderland midfielder Paddy McNair, according to the Daily Mirror (liveblog entry 14:55).
Sunderland are said to have turned down a £2 million offer from Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this week.

And it the newspaper adds that the Mackems are holding out for £5 million for the Northern Ireland international.
Brighton are expected to return with an improved bid, according to the Daily Mirror, but could face competition from Derby, Stoke and Norwich.

The newspaper adds that Derby, who lost manager Gary Rowett to Stoke last month, are set to bankroll new boss Frank Lampard – despite their chairman’s suggestions on the contrary.
Norwich have also made significant cut backs over the past 12 months, but could see their coffers boosted by the likely sale of talisman James Maddison, who is said to be attracting Premier League interest.
