Liverpool look set to miss out on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer as the midfielder moves closer to signing a new contract at Arsenal.
The Telegraph reports that Oxlade-Chamberlain – whose current deal at the Emirates Stadium expires in 2018 – is set to put pen to paper on a new contract worth £100,000-a-week.

This comes in the aftermath of Gunners manager Arsene Wenger also committing his future to the club, signing a new two-year deal of his own following the North Londoners’ 2-1 FA Cup final triumph over Chelsea.
It is thought that Wenger staying at the club was one of the key decisions behind Oxlade-Chamberlain deciding to do the same, with the Frenchman having been a big influence in the 23-year-old’s career to date.

The 67-year-old signed the England international from Southampton back in 2011 and since then he has played 194 times for the club, winning three FA Cups.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has also struggled with injury during his time in the capital, but Wenger has stood by him throughout and gave the usual midfielder a new lease of life at wing-back at the end of the 2016/17 season after returning to fitness.
