According to Wales Online, Sheffield Wednesday are looking at Cardiff City’s Callum Paterson as an alternative to West Bromwich Albion striker Kenneth Zohore.
The Owls are keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of the deadline.
Wednesday saw target man Steven Fletcher join Championship rivals Stoke City in the summer, and they are keen to find a suitable replacement.

Yorkshire Live claim Wednesday identified West Brom’s Zohore, but the Dane who cost the Baggies £8 million in 2019 may prove too expensive even on loan.
Now, Wales Online claim Wednesday are considering Cardiff’s Paterson.
The Scotland international has fallen down the pecking order with the Bluebirds following the arrival of striker Keiffer Moore from Wigan Athletic.
Paterson, who originally joined Cardiff as a right-back, has proven to be the ultimate utility man – featuring in midfield, on the wing and later upfront.
Former Cardiff manager Neil Warnock hailed Paterson a tremendous lad during his spell in Cardiff, adding the player would run through brick walls for him.
Paterson, 25, scored ten goals in 32 games during Cardiff’s 2017-18 promotion campaign.

Wednesday have started the season in decent form, picking up four points from their opening two games which brings them to -8 points following their deduction.
Garry Monk’s side will be keen to keep momentum going, and a new striker ahead of the October 5 deadline will surely give the side an added boost going forward.
