Arsenal were recently approached by Marseille about a loan move for Matteo Guendouzi, according to Foot Mercato.
It is claimed that Marseille contacted the player’s entourage to express their interest, knowing they are ‘not immune’ to an offer from England for the Arsenal- and West Ham United-linked midfielder Morgan Sanson.
Guendouzi has yet to appear in any of the Gunners’ matchday squads this season, despite having played 82 times in the two years he has spent at the Emirates Stadium.
And the 21-year-old Frenchman wants a change of scenery as Arsenal push him towards the exit, according to Foot Mercato.
It is claimed that Guendouzi was also the subject of enquiries from Villarreal, Hertha Berlin, Valencia and Real Betis this summer, although none were followed up.

As well as Sanson, Arsenal are being linked with string of other central midfielders, most notably the Atletico Madrid man, Thomas Partey.
And the Gunners’ willingness to sanction Guendouzi’s exit could hinge on their ability to strengthen in his position, with Lucas Torreira also said to be a target for other clubs.
