Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly narrowed their managerial search down to three names right now.

According to BBC Sport, Tim Sherwood, Harry Redknapp and Roy Keane are not in contention for the Wolverhampton Wanderers job – but a three-man shortlist has been established.

Wolves decided to sack manager Walter Zenga this time last week after less than three months in the job, with the Italian paying for winning just four of his 14 league games in charge.

With the Italian now gone, Wolves are again searching for a new manager, just months after parting ways with Kenny Jackett, and will be hoping for much more success than they had with Zenga.

Former defender Rob Edwards took charge for Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers, and owners Fosun International must now look to bring in a permanent manage, most likely over the upcoming international break.

BBC Sport report that three managers linked with the post – Tim Sherwood, Harry Redknapp and Roy Keane – are now in contention for the job, and haven’t been contacted about the post.

Sherwood has been out of work since losing his job at Aston Villa in October 2015, and had been seen one as of the frontrunners for the job in the last few days, but is allegedly not in the running to replace Zenga.

Meanwhile, Redknapp has been out of the game for almost two years, and Keane is serving as Republic of Ireland’s assistant manager, though both were outsiders for the Wolves job anyway.

The report adds that Wolves have established a three-man shortlist for the job, with Paul Lambert, Nigel Pearson and Dougie Freedman all believed to be in line for the job.

With a second round of interviews to come this week, it seems that Wolves are prioritising Championship experience in their search for a new manager, judging by that shortlist.
