Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Dimitri Payet from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
West Ham United will not sell Dimitri Payet in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.
According to the report, Premier League giants Chelsea are interested in signing Payet from West Ham this summer.
However, it has been reported that the Hammers have no intention whatsoever of selling the France international attacking midfielder.
“Payet is viewed as the sort of signing who could help reignite Chelsea after their nightmare Premier League title defence last season,” states the report in The Mirror.
“But Hammers chiefs are adamant they won’t sell star man Payet at any cost and won’t even put a potential valuation on his head that could tempt them to sell.”
Payet joined West Ham from Marseille in the summer of 2015 and took the Premier League by storm.
The 29-year-old scored nine goals and created 116 chances in 30 league appearances for the Hammers this past season.
The former Lille attacking midfielder is a very good player, and it seems that West Ham are intent on retaining his services.
The Hammers are moving into the Olympic Stadium where the team will play in front of over 50,000 fans next season.
For the London outfit to challenge for a top-six finish in the Premier League next season, they have to hold onto Payet.
West Ham have lofty ambitions of making themselves Champions League regulars in the coming years, and they need to retain the services of the Frenchman in order to progress.
