Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to keep Toby Alderweireld.

According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur are planning to keep centre back Toby Alderweireld – but three more players are expected to go.
Spurs endured a frustrating summer transfer window as they failed to bring in any new signings, but that hasn’t stopped them from enjoying a strong start to the season.
Wins over Newcastle United and Fulham – 2-1 and 3-1 respectively – have given Spurs a 100% record in the first two games, and boss Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased with the opening to the campaign after so many doubts heading into the season.
Even though the English transfer window may be closed, clubs in other countries may still be able to sign Spurs players – and three could be heading out, though one isn’t Toby Alderweireld.
There have been plenty of questions about Alderweireld’s future given that a £25million release clause in his deal can be activated next summer, meaning Spurs risk losing him for around half his value in a year’s time.
However, the Belgian international was surprisingly brought back into the Spurs line-up against Fulham on Saturday, having been left out by Pochettino for large parts of last season, and the London Evening Standard now claim that he will stay in North London.

Whether Spurs intend to sign him to a new contract, sell him in January or simply wait until next summer, it seems that Alderweireld won’t be leaving this month, leaving Spurs wil decisions to make down the line.
However, the report does note that three players – Danny Rose, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Fernando Llorente – are still available and could leave before the transfer window shuts around Europe next week.
Left back Rose is clearly unwanted, Nkoudou has an offer from Mainz and Llorente could attract interest on the continent, with Spurs looking to move fringe players on.
