According to The Telegraph, Luke Shaw’s new Manchester United contract has created concern at Tottenham Hotspur.

Shaw has signed a new contract with United which will see him earn £190,000 per week as salary, according to The Telegraph.

It has been reported that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has now got a headache regarding contract negotiations with Spurs players, who could demand a salary on par with Shaw.

Major concern?

According to The Telegraph, Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier all have two years or less on their contracts at Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur Chairman Daniel Levy looks on during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United at White Hart Lane on November 19, 2016 in London, England.

This means that Tottenham will have to negotiate new deals with them, and given how much Shaw is reportedly earning at United, it could mean that Spurs chairman Levy will have to pay his players more.

Shaw is a very good and talented young left-back, but the 23-year-old former Southampton has not been very consistent over the past few years and still has a lot to prove, while the likes of Eriksen and Alderweireld are world class and have been playing consistently well for a number of years now.
