Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of sealing a deal for the French star.
According to a report from French media outlet L’Equipe, Nabil Fekir is intent on joining Liverpool because of two very specific reasons.
The 24-year-old Frenchman is set to undergo a medical with the Reds today, according to the Guardian, and is on the verge of completing a £53 million move to Anfield.
Fekir was in sensational form for Lyon last season, scoring 23 goals and chipping in with eight assists in just 40 appearances in all competitions – with all of those coming from an attacking midfield position.
The France international will surely take Liverpool to another level, if he does eventually make the move to Merseyside.
There was plenty of interest in the Lyon ace this summer, according to the Mirror, who claim that both Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich wanted to sign the talented play-maker.
L’Equipe claim that the two main reasons why Fekir has his heart set on a move to Anfield, however, was Liverpool’s thrilling run to the Champions League final last season and the opportunity to work under Jürgen Klopp.
Reds fans will be desperate to hear news confirming Fekir as a Liverpool player today, and if they do manage to get a deal for the Frenchman over the line, they will be in a great position to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next term.
