Sunderland are still interested in signing DeAndre Yedlin from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to ESPN FC.
It has been reported that the Black Cats are trying to secure the services of Yedlin before the end of the summer transfer window.
“Yedlin, 23, was not in the squad for Spurs’ 1-1 draw at Everton on Saturday – the opening day of the new Premier League season – as discussions continue with hopes of a deal before the end of the transfer window on Aug. 31,” states the report.

The Sunderland Echo reported back in June of Sunderland’s willingness to sign the USA international defender this summer, and it seems that the Premier League outfit retain their interest.
The 23-year-old, who can play as a right-back or as a wide midfielder, spent the 2015-16 season on loan at Sunderland.
The American did quite well at the Black Cats, making as many as 23 appearances in the Premier League.

Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier are ahead of Yedlin in the pecking order for the right-back spot at Tottenham at the moment, and it makes sense for the USA international to find a new club for the 2016-17 campaign.
Perhaps it would be best for the former Seattle Sounders FC right-back if he joins Sunderland on a season-long loan deal instead of making the move to the Stadium of Light permanent.
