Chelsea’s Diego Costa is reportedly wanted by Everton in the summer transfer window.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman is interested in signing Diego Costa on loan from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.

Costa wants to join Spanish club Atletico Madrid, according to the report, but the move cannot go through until January due to a transfer embargo on the La Liga outfit.

Koeman wants to sign the Spain international striker now and is willing to make a loan move, according to the report.

“Mirror Sport understands that Koeman has been canvassing opinion behind the scenes among his staff as to whether it is worth taking a punt on the striker,” states the report in The Mirror.

Costa joined Chelsea from Atletico in the summer of 2014 for a fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £32 million.

The 28-year-old has been a huge success at the Blues, helping the London club win the Premier League title twice in the last three years.

The Spain international would be a good signing for Everton on loan, especially as the Toffees need to sign a proven goalscorer.

Everton have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far, signing Wayne Rooney, Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford among others.
