Report outlines potential concern for Tottenham that would see them emulate West Ham difficulty

Tottenham Hotspur could be forced to play their first few games away from home next season, much like West Ham United did this term.

According to a report from the Sun, Tottenham are all set to play their first four games of next season’s Premier League campaign away from home, in a move similar to the one made by West Ham over the past two years.

The good news is that Spurs’ new home will definitely be ready in time for next season, according to the Sun, as the stadium build enters the final stages of its development.

The Hammers’ move to the London Stadium two years ago didn’t quite go as smoothly as was hoped, and they have been forced to play their first handful of games away from home.

That certainly played its part in West Ham’s woeful start to the season, and it could be argued that Tottenham will be right up against the eight ball next term, if they have to play their first four games away, as is being reported.

The Sun claims that the Lilywhites’ new home is on course to be ready in time for next season, but their first four games will have to be played away, and in a season that will be vitally important to Tottenham’s hopes of keeping their best players, that is hardly ideal preparation.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side only need to look at their London neighbours to see how challenging that can be, and the Argentine will be hoping that his side show more mettle than the Hammers did at the start of this season.
