Newcastle United got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.
Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has reinstated the club’s policy of signing youngsters with a sell-on value, according to The Mirror.
According to the report, Ashley held meetings with the Newcastle hierarchy this week. It has also been reported that the English entrepreneur has decided to have more say in the Magpies’ transfer dealings.
The Mirror has claimed that Ashley wants to sign youngsters who could be sold for a higher price in the future.

“Benitez had a £30million transfer surplus after selling Moussa Sissoko to Spurs and Georginio Wijnaldum, but Ashley wants to return to the policy of buying young players with promise,” states the report in The Mirror.
“He has left managing director Lee Charnley in no doubt as to his wishes and former recruitment guru Graham Carr is set for a direct role in all future purchases.”

The policy of signing youngsters and selling them on for a high price is controversial, and it did play a role in impeding Newcastle from becoming a regular top-10 club in the Premier League.
The Magpies, who got relegated to the Championship at the end of last season, signed some experienced players in the summer of 2016, such as Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie.
Newcastle are going strong in the Championship at the moment and are in the running for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Rafael Benitez’s side are currently at the top of the league table with 55 points from 26 matches, a point clear of second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion, who have a game in hand.
