Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are expected to be active in the January transfer window.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are planning to sign a striker in the January transfer window.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton was satisfied with his forward options, but an injury for Joe Garner has left him wanting a new attacker.

Garner could be set to miss three months’ worth of action, after dislocating his shoulder during the Old-Firm derby.

The Rangers forward, who had been in brilliant form, had to be stretchered off during the match against Celtic and could now face a lengthy lay off.

Rangers are determined to not allow Garner’s absence to end their positive run of form, and Warburton is reportedly making plans to replace the former Preston North End man.

Warburton wants another forward to add his ranks at Ibrox, with Rangers already said to be taking action to line a transfer up.

Rangers are also set to complete their first signing of the January window, when they finalise a deal for Jon Toral in the near future.
