According to a report from Sky Sports, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to keep hold of Anthony Martial this summer, amidst rumours linking the Frenchman with a switch to Tottenham this summer.

According to a report from the Telegraph, the 22-year-old is keen on a switch to Spurs, and Mauricio Pochettino is allegedly a big fan of the United forward.

Martial joined the Red Devils from Monaco in the summer of 2015, for a fee that could eventually rise to £61.5 million, according to the Telegraph, and he has since gone on to rack up 36 goals and 26 assists in 136 appearances in all competitions.

He is often criticised for his perceived lackadaisical approach to the game, however, and his failure to nail down a regular starting spot at Old Trafford has led to rumours linking him with the exit door.

Sky Sports claims that Mourinho does not want to lose the France international, and will do all he can to prevent him from joining Tottenham this summer.

The United ace is valued at around £53 million, according to Sky Sports, but if Mourinho really is so desperate to keep hold of him, Tottenham would have to pay substantially more than that amount, if they are to have any chance of bringing him to north London this summer.
