Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers want Michael O’Neill to be in charge of the Gers, and Stadium of Light outfit Sunderland want him as well, according to a report.
Rangers are interested in appointing Michael O’Neill as their manager, according to The Scottish Sun.
The Gers are on the hunt for a new permanent manager following the departure of Pedro Caixinha in October.
Caixinha parted company with the Ibrox outfit due to a run of disappointing results in the Scottish Premiership.
The Scottish Sun has claimed that Sunderland are also interested in O’Neill, who is currently in charge of the Northern Ireland national football team.
The Championship club in England are also looking for a new permanent manager following the departure of Simon Grayson last month.
According to The Scottish Sun, both Sunderland and Rangers are interested in securing the services of O’Neill.
It has been reported that the Gers and the Black Cats would have to pay a compensation fee of £750,000 in order to get the former Newcastle United and Hibernian midfielder.
O’Neill guided Northern Ireland to the Euro 2016 finals and to the 2016 World Cup playoffs.
