West Ham reportedly won’t entertain offers for Dimitri Payet below £30m.

According to The Telegraph, a host of European clubs are looking to sign West Ham United playmaker Dimitri Payet in January – but the Hammers will ask for a huge fee.

Payet, 29, was one of the stars of last season’s Premier League campaign as the Frenchman hit nine goals and 12 assists, before again proving his quality on the international stage with France at Euro 2016.

The attacking midfielder suffered a slow start to this term due to injury, but has now notched two goals and four assists in all competitions, with his stunning solo goal against Middlesbrough reminding people of what he can do.

However, West Ham sit just one point outside the relegation zone, and it seems that Payet is somewhat frustrated. The Mirror reported earlier today that West Ham are planning crisis talks with their star man after he was quoted by French media as saying that he wouldn’t rule out a January move away from the London Stadium.

West Ham fans are understandably concerned that Payet could be leaving their club, and their worries won’t be helped by The Telegraph’s most recent report on the playmaker’s future.

They claim that a host of European clubs could make January moves to sign Payet, with Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Payet’s former club Marseille all credited with an interest in signing him.

It’s added that West Ham and manager Slaven Bilic are desperate to keep Payet at the London Stadium, and it would allegedly take a bid of at least £30m to even convince the Hammers to think about selling their prized asset.

Whether any club would be willing to spend £30m on a player approaching 30 remains to be seen, especially when you consider that he signed a new £120,000-a-week contract with the Hammers back in February, and those are big numbers for a player of Payet’s age.
