Middlesbrough midfielder Grant Leadbitter has reportedly turned down advances from Ipswich Town, Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers and is set for a medical at Sunderland today.

It has been reported that Leadbitter will agree a substantial wage cut to return to Sunderland in the January transfer window.
Championship trio Ipswich, Stoke and Blackburn all made formal approaches for the 33-year-old midfielder this month, but he has turned them down in order to return to the Black Cats, according to the report.
According to Sky Sports, Leadbitter will undergo a medical at Jack Ross’s side today.

Good signing for Sunderland
Leadbitter started his professional club football career at Sunderland, and it seems that the former England Under-21 international is determined to return to the Stadium of Light.
The 33-year-old midfielder did well during his time at the Black Cats, and with Ross’s team aiming to clinch automatic promotion to the Premier League, he will be a good addition to the squad.
Sunderland are fifth in the League One table at the moment with 53 points from 27 matches, six points behind leaders Luton Town, who have played 29 games.
