Burnley reportedly wanted to sign Nottingham Forest’s Britt Assombalonga in the summer transfer window.

Britt Assombalonga is one of the best strikers in the Championship, and it does not come as a surprise that the Nottingham Forest star has been linked with a move away from the City Ground in the summer transfer window.

Assombalonga has proved himself in the Championship, and it is only logical to expect him to test himself in the Premier League.

Burnley have been linked with a move for the striker, with The Daily Mail reporting earlier this month that they have had a bid of £8 million rejected by Forest.

Middlesbrough have also been credited with interest in the 24-year-old, who is reportedly valued at £10m by Forest, who narrowly avoided relegation to League One at the end of last season.

Sean Dyche’s side, though, seem to be determined to sign Assombalonga this summer. According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 65, July 9, 2017), the Clarets are planning to sweeten the deal by including Tendayi Darikwa.

Darikwa is 25 years of age and can operate as a right-back or as a winger; The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 65, July 9, 2017) claims that the Englishman is rated at £2m.
