Tottenham Hotspur undoubtedly have one of the best young managers in world football at the club.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
The Evening Standard understands that French giants Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a move for Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, should they decide to part company with current boss Unai Emery after their humiliating 6-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Pochettino’s name has already been banded about in conversation regarding some of Europe’s most high profile managerial jobs, including the vacant role that Luis Enrique will leave behind when he leaves Barca in the summer.
And it is little wonder, considering the manner in which the Argentine has gone about his business during his time at White Hart Lane.
He led his side to a third placed finish last term, and they currently sit in second position in the Premier League table, albeit a distant 10 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea.
And the Evening Standard understand that the PSG hierarchy have been impressed with the way he has turned Tottenham into perennial contenders in his two-and-half years in north London.
Spurs fans will be hoping that Pochettino remains at the club for a while yet, however, and with the young, talented side he has built, there is little reason to think that he would leave in the middle of a process that he feels will bring success to Tottenham.
