Fonseca to Newcastle?
Fonseca held talks with Newcastle’s ownership yesterday, and they are said to have been productive, in what looks a big development.
While the Magpies still haven’t finalised who they will pick to replace Steve Bruce, Fonseca is now in with a strong chance of getting the job.
Indeed, the 48-year-old is said to have begun planning work at Newcastle already.
Fonseca apparently has started drawing up game-plans for Newcastle’s next fixtures.
The Portuguese boss has already come close to moving to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, and it seems that a switch to St. James’ Park could be a real possibility at this point.
Plans in place
While Fonseca may not be in charge in time for Newcastle’s game against Crystal Palace this weekend, it may not be long before he is in place.
His strategy of beginning planning for the Magpies already could, therefore, be crucial.
Fonseca will have little time to waste if he does arrive at Newcastle, due to the situation the club is currently in.
The Tynesiders are currently sat second bottom in the Premier League table, having taken just three points from their first eight games, meaning whoever takes over will be under pressure to make a fast start.
