Tottenham Hotspur have spent the entire summer trying to sign Giovani Lo Celso.

It’s squeaky bum time for a lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans.
The transfer window closes on Thursday and as of right now Tanguy Ndombele remains the only first-team player to be signed by Spurs this summer.
There’s a number of logs on the fire for Tottenham in this regard, but one report about Giovani Lo Celso is quite worrying.
According to ABC Sevilla, Real Betis have rejected the Lilywhites’ proposal of £52 million up front for the Argentine, with the offer also having £8 million worth add-ons – but that isn’t the worrying part.
The report adds that ‘other clubs’ have ‘entered negotiations’ for Lo Celso and this should concern the North Londoners.
If other clubs are in for Lo Celso then best believe that they can afford to match Betis’s valuation of the 23-year-old and suddenly Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has competition.
For so long it was a one-horse race and Spurs were their own biggest obstacle in getting a deal done, but now it seems like others have joined the pursuit.
On the flip side, this could benefit Spurs. Suddenly there’s a lot more pressure to get this one over the line and it may just give Levy a kick up the backside.
