What a first season back in the Premier League for Leeds United.

Under Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds secured a ninth-placed finish last term after a long and emotional 16 years out of the top flight.

But Leeds are well and truly back – and Victor Orta, their director of football, will have to enjoy a good summer in terms of recruitment to ensure United are still hard to beat next season.

Sheffield United are something of a cautionary tale for their Yorkshire rivals, after finishing bottom of the Premier League last season following a finish of ninth the year before.

Orta and Bielsa need to kick on and according to a report, one new target has been identified.

According to The Daily Mail, Leeds want to sign relegated midfielder Harrison Reed, who went down with Fulham this past season.

Despite the relegation, Reed was among his side’s best players and could be among the players who stick around in the big time.

Cottagers boss Scott Parker labelled him ‘exceptional’ and ‘immense’ at one point last season, alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

On the cheap?

Due to the fact they were relegated, Fulham can’t exactly demand big money for their better players.

Well, they can, but it will still have to be markedly reduced in comparison to what their value would be had Parker’s side stayed up and therefore it’s entirely possible that Leeds could pick him up for a cut-price figure.
