According to The Mirror, Victor Orta is in contact with Ezgjan Alioski’s camp over a potential Leeds United stay.
For months now, it has looked like Alioski will be leaving the club on a free transfer with his deal set to expire at the end of the month.
However, a move to Turkey has fallen through, meaning Alioski does not have another club lined up for next season – and Leeds could bring him back.
Leeds’ stance on Alioski
It’s claimed that Leeds will not alter their original contract offer to Alioski. There will be no second offer, and if Alioski wants to stay, he will have to accept the terms Leeds have already offered.
The report adds that Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t want to lose Alioski, and that’s why Orta is now talking to his camp in an attempt to get a last-gasp deal done before his contract ends.
The problem for Alioski is playing time. Bielsa allegedly views Alioski as a winger more than a left back, but Jack Harrison has the left flank locked down.
Leeds also intend to sign a specialist left back, meaning Alioski may only be backup in both positions – and it’s unclear just how he feels about that.

How did Alioski fare in the Premier League?
The 29-year-old started 29 of Leeds’ 38 Premier League games last season, and made an additional seven substitute appearances.
With two goals and three assists, Alioski certainly contributed for Leeds, and he has ended up becoming something of a cult hero since his 2017 move from Lugano.
Currently away with North Macedonia at Euro 2020, Alioski may not want to think about his club situation right now, but Leeds are seemingly opening the door for an extended stay.
