A new report has made the claim that Ruben Amorim could reject the Tottenham Hotspur manager job due to two fundamental reasons.

Only on Friday was it claimed that the Sporting CP boss was open to the idea of managing Spurs next season.

While Tottenham Hotspur fans may have been buzzing to have potentially found a new manager in Ruben Amorim, their excitement could be short-lived.

Why Amorim could turn down Tottenham manager job

The Portuguese coach has been billed to be the next supercoach, with many naturally comparing him to Jose Mourinho.

In fact, Manchester City tactician Pep Guardiola said via the Evening Standard that the 38-year-old was already ‘one of the best’ coaches in the world.

A Bola have now explained that the first factor that could lead Ruben Amorim to snub the Tottenham manager job is due to his need to join a club with ‘guarantees of success.’

Secondly, Amorim would only like to come into a club where he has full control to call the shots, as is the case at Sporting.

However, most clubs tend not to tick both these boxes coupled with the Primeira Liga winner’s desire to stay at the team he once played for, which is why a summer exit for him is unlikely.

HITC View: Tottenham could bring in better coaches anyway

Ruben Amorim has the right to have his terms and conditions and so do Tottenham, which is why it may be advisable for them to try bringing in another manager.

In all honesty, as promising as Amorim has been in his relatively short managerial career, managers like Nagelsmann and Enrique remain out-of-work.

While the pair are also expected to demand certain conditions to be fulfilled, Spurs would be better-placed to pander to their needs rather than the highly-rated coach’s.

As a result, Spurs should not be overly concerned about this revelation and simply look elsewhere.
