Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp is primed for a new contract – and a big pay rise for his performances under Nuno Espirito Santo.

That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Skipp will be rewarded with another new deal in North London.

Skipp only signed a new deal last summer, but has already done enough to tempt Tottenham into an improved contract.

How much would Skipp earn at Tottenham?

It’s claimed that Skipp is currently on around £25,000-a-week at Tottenham.

Yet with this planned new deal, Skipp’s earnings would go up to around £35,000-a-week to £40,000-a-week – something like a 50% increase.

Skipp’s deal would also keep him at Tottenham until 2025, ending Norwich’s hopes of a deal.

It’s stated that the Canaries fancied signing Skipp permanently after a strong loan spell last season. Not a huge surprise when Daniel Farke was calling him ‘unbelievable’ just a matter of months ago.

However, Tottenham just weren’t interested.

Can Skipp and Hojbjerg play in the same team long-term?

This has been a key question of late because of how Skipp and Hojbjerg play the game.

Both are safe passers and break up play well, but having both in the team has stunted Tottenham’s creativity a little.

It got even worse when Harry Winks was added into the team too.

Long-term it feels like Skipp and Hojbjerg will be competing for one spot rather than playing together, but Tottenham are right to get their homegrown talent tied down on improved wages.
