According to the Liverpool Echo, playmaker James Rodriguez has travelled with the Everton squad for today’s game against Southampton.
Rodriguez picked up an injury against Liverpool last week, as an early clash with Virgil van Dijk left him with bruising that only became worse after the game had finished.
Carlo Ancelotti subsequently ruled Rodriguez out of today’s game just a few days ago, given that he had been unable to even train due to the bruising.
However, the Italian’s stance seemingly weakened on Friday, and having trained partially on Saturday, Rodriguez could now play a part today.
Rodriguez has allegedly made the trip down to St. Mary’s Stadium, suggesting that he will at least be in the matchday squad to face the Saints.
The Colombian may only be fit for the bench, but even that would be a huge boost for Everton given Rodriguez’s superb start to life in the Premier League.

Rodriguez, signed from Real Madrid over the summer, has notched three goals and three assists in five Premier League games, whilst also racking up 15 key passes.
His decision to reunite with his former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich boss Ancelotti is paying off, and Everton fans will be excited by the news that Rodriguez could play today after all.
