There could be some good news for Arsenal very soon on the contract front.
One big worry that the Gunners have is regarding Bukayo Saka’s deal.
The 18-year-old winger is out of contract at Arsenal next summer and the prospect of losing him on a free in 12 months is unthinkable, given his potential.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the teenage flier in recent months.
But according to Goal, Arsenal are ‘calm’ about the situation and expect him to sign a new deal ‘soon’.
What a huge boost this would be if and when it happens.
There’s still major doubts over whether Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, arguably their best player, will do the same, but if Saka puts pen to paper then that’s one big weight off their mind.
What a brilliant breakthrough season it’s been for him.
Even though he’s been used as a makeshift left-back quite often due to Kieran Tierney’s absence, Saka has still shone in a major way and it’d be heartbreaking for the North Londoners if they were to lose him to Liverpool – or worse, lose him for free next year.
