According to The Mirror, Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi could appoint Gary Brazil as the club’s new manager until the end of the season.

Forest chose to sack Philippe Montanier on the 14th of January, bringing the Frenchman’s reign at the City Ground to an end after less than seven months in the job.

Academy manager Gary Brazil is currently in charge of the club, and he has overseen a sharp upturn in fortunes, winning three of his four games in the Forest hotseat.

After Saturday’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa, Forest have now moved up to 15th place in the Championship table, and the threat of relegation is gradually shrinking under Brazil’s stewardship.

Forest almost landed a new manager last month, but – as reported by The Guardian – Burton Albion’s Nigel Clough rejected a move to the City Ground, leaving owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi to consider his next move.

Now, The Mirror report that Al-Hasawi is in fact considering handing the reins to Brazil until the end of the season, handing the 54-year-old an extended run as the club’s manager.

It’s stated that a ‘crunch meeting’ between Al-Hasawi and Brazil will take place before Saturday’s game with Norwich City, with Brazil seemingly in pole position to land the job.

Al-Hasawi has seen off seven managers during his time at the City Ground, but Brazil certainly certainly deserves a chance to manage the club on a longer-term basis having impressed so much as the interim Forest boss.
