According to the Liverpool ECHO, Everton are confident that James Rodriguez will be fit to face Manchester United this weekend.
Rodriguez has a ‘small injury’ according to Carlo Ancelotti, which meant he was ruled out for Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United.
The Colombian picked up a knock against Liverpool last month, and was a huge doubt for the game at Southampton before starting the game against all odds.
That seems to have set Rodriguez back, as he wasn’t even in the squad against Newcastle and is now in a race against time to face United.
Still, Everton are ‘confident’ that Rodriguez will be back, with ‘good progress’ being made – though such an early kick off may be something to factor in, given that Everton will kick off at 12:30pm on Saturday.
Rodriguez has been a star for Everton since arriving in the Premier League, as he has picked up three goals and three assists in six outings.

He has racked up 17 key passes in that time, proving to be one of the Premier League’s most creative players, whilst 16 successful dribbles is another impressive stat.
Everton clearly lacked guile in that defeat at Newcastle, and need Rodriguez back to really harm United – right now, it seems that they will indeed have him back.
