AS Roma have made an offer to Arsenal for Granit Xhaka, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian club, now managed by former Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho, have made an offer of €15 million (£12.88 million) plus bonuses for Xhaka.
However, Arsenal do not want to sell the Switzerland international at that price and want at least €25 million (£21.47 million) up front, according to the report in the Italian news outlet.
Too low an offer
There is no way that Arsenal will – or should – accept just €15 million (£12.88 million) upfront for Xhaka.
True, the 28-year-old midfielder reportedly wants to leave Arsenal this summer, but the North London club simply cannot sell him for a huge loss.
After all, the Gunners paid Borussia Monchengladbach £30 million in transfer fees in 2016, as reported by Sky Sports.
Xhaka has not exactly been a huge success at Arsenal, but he is still only 28.

In theory, Xhaka is at the top of his game, and the Gunners should not sell him for €15 million (£12.88 million).
You could argue that even €25 million (£21.47 million) is not enough.
Arsenal should look for (at least) £25 million in transfer fees. And that’s money upfront.
Also remember that Xhaka is a regular in the Arsenal first team, and manager Mikel Arteta will have to sign a replacement for him if he leaves.
The 28-year-old Switzerland international midfielder made 29 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
Xhaka scored one goal and gave two assists in those matches.
