Tottenham Hotspur have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Rennes winger Jeremy Doku with Nuno Espirito Santo very interested.
That’s according to French news outlet Jeunes Footeux, who claim that Tottenham have entered the battle for Doku’s signature.
Liverpool have been admirers of Doku since his days at Anderlecht, with Jurgen Klopp seeing him as Sadio Mane’s heir.
The Belgian joined Rennes last summer, arriving as a replacement for Raphinha following his move to Leeds United.
Despite just two goals and four assists last season, the 19-year-old has now done enough to attract Tottenham’s interest too.
It’s stated that boss Nuno is driving Tottenham’s pursuit of Doku ahead of the transfer deadline, as he has a ‘great interest’ in the teenager.
Rennes want a huge fee for Doku though; €50million (£43million), according to this report.

Nuno wants a right-sided winger, and Doku is seen as an alternative to Adama Traore, another wide man Nuno really likes.
Doku may be even more expensive than Traore, and Fabio Paratici may need to get creative if he wants to fulfil Nuno’s wishes and bring Doku to North London.
Picked out by Kylian Mbappe as one of the fastest players he has ever seen, Doku looks to have huge potential – and he could be an incredible capture for Tottenham’s future if Nuno gets his way.
