According to the Daily Mail, Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to let Toby Alderweireld leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer with Joachim Andersen targeted to replace him.
Tottenham finally have their new manager in place with Nuno being presented as Jose Mourinho’s replacement on Wednesday night.
Nuno has a huge task on his hands at Tottenham, and one veteran player now wants to leave in defender Alderweireld.
Alderweireld wants Tottenham exit
The Daily Mail claim that Alderweireld had decided to leave Tottenham some time ago, and fancied leaving no matter who came in as the club’s new manager.
The Belgian has spent six years with Tottenham having been lured from Atletico Madrid back in the summer of 2015, and now has almost 250 appearances for the club.
Branded a ‘leader’ by Dele Alli, Alderweireld has been a mainstay of the Tottenham side for some time now, but has seemingly had enough and wants to leave with just one year left on his contract.

Nuno to let Aldeweireld go; Andersen in?
The report adds that Tottenham’s new boss Nuno is willing to sell Alderweireld because the club would then be able to bring in Lyon defender Joachim Andersen.
The Dane was ‘top drawer’ on loan at Fulham last season according to Tony Gale, and Lyon are seemingly prepared to sell, enabling Tottenham to bring in a young defender for the future in Aldereweireld’s place.
That’s a risk given Alderweireld’s leadership ability, but Andersen did captain Fulham at times last season and could arrive at Tottenham alongside Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu to really spark a new Tottenham defensive setup under Nuno.
